In order for the new setting to take effect for max worker thread do we need to recycle sql services or box?

I want to change the max worker thread value to 0 [as of now its >0] for few of my server and after setting up the value to 0, do I need to recycle sql services in order to new setting to take effect? Is it mandatory?
