I am setting up a new SQL Server 2012 on Windows Server 2012. I have a logical drive reserved for tempdb where I created 8 data files and a log file all with initial size equal to maxsize with the sum of the 9 mazsizes taking up most of
the drive. So there is never any need to autogrow. In Windows Server 2012 this causes the drive to appear red when using Explorer to view Computer. This seems to worry our Windows admins who think it may affect drive perf which I doubt. Anyone know of
a reason not to do this?
